BCAA – Branched-Chain Amino Acids

Proper nutrition is an important pillar for health, especially in old age. As is well known, too much carbohydrates and fats are usually eaten, instead of foods that are rich in so-called phytochemicals. This promotes disorders such as diabetes, cancer and cardiovascular diseases. At the older age, an improper diet is very common.
It is undisputed that a low calorific diet (calorie reduction) in connection with high vital substances (vitamins, phytochemicals) prevents diseases in old age and extends a healthy life.
The caloric reduction leads to increased activity of the mitochondria and improved antioxidant capacity. In view of the difficult feasibility of calorie reduction, substances mimicking the effects of calorie restriction are of vital importance.
